Big Meadow Reservoir is a great hiking spot located just a 20-minute drive away from South Fork, accessible via US-160. To get there, follow US-160 towards Pagosa Springs for 11 miles, then take a right onto FR 410. After 1/4 mile, the pavement ends and the road becomes a hard-packed dirt road that is suitable for most vehicles. Continue on FR 410 for 1.5 miles, and park your vehicle at the lot near the boating site.

There is a trail that loops around Big Meadow Reservoir. The trailhead sits at an elevation of approximately 9240 feet..
