Just a short 5-minute drive (3.1 miles) south of South Fork, you can find Trout Creek Trail. The trail is 9.8 miles long and it ends at the Weminuche Wilderness Boundary where it joins a crossing trail. If you go left, you’ll head towards Hunter Lake on the Highline Trail and if you go right, you’ll go towards Trout Mountain. The 9.8-mile out-and-back trail has an elevation gain of 3820 feet and descends 950 feet. The Trout Creek Trail starts at 8419 feet and reaches its highest point of 11209 feet at the wilderness boundary. You can use the Hiking Time Calculator to estimate your trip time.
